Charity Partnership: Edinburgh Food Project + Accountability Edinburgh

We’re delighted to announce Edinburgh Food Project as our charity partner this financial year!

After learning that food bank usage in Edinburgh has increased by 36%, with food and cash donations down by 20%, our team are keen to support this impactful, local charity.

In 2023 alone, Edinburgh Food Project delivered 20,361 emergency food parcels. Due to the cost of living crisis, donations are decreasing - yet demand is higher than ever.

Edinburgh Food Project also help to tackle the underlying causes of food poverty with their Money Advice Service, helping people address financial challenges to gain more control over their futures.

Recently some of the Accountability team visited the Edinburgh Food Project warehouse and witnessed first hand the essential work they do for their seven food banks across the city.

Faith, Trusts and Corporate Fundraising Manager at Edinburgh Food Project, gave us a tour of their warehouse - a hub where volunteers pack food parcels to be delivered by their drivers.

We’re donating a portion of our profits each quarter, which will go directly towards emergency food supplies and supporting the Money Advice Service.

Faith showed us a list of what goes into their food parcels. EFP ensure that all food is acceptable for those with limited supplies and equipment.

To further support Edinburgh Food Project, we’ve taken part in and hosted lots of fundraising activities - pictures below!

Rosie, Rachel, Becky, Matt and Heather spent an afternoon at Waverley, embellished with EFP-branded tabards and buckets!

We hosted a charity shopping evening at Rosypenguin and donated all money raised from tickets purchased to Edinburgh Food Project. A big thank you to Judith and Ruth for giving us a rundown of the latest fashion trends!

Mahdokht and her partner, Michelle, Jill and Rosie walked the 10 and 20 mile Kiltwalk routes - and absolutely smashed their fundraising efforts, raising over £1960! The sore feet were worth it to support EFP on the day.

We’ll be joining the Edinburgh Food Project warehouse team on 9th December - helping to process food donations, organising shelves, making up food parcels and getting food to the people who need it most this Christmas. Watch this space!
