This International Women’s Day, we asked some of the team to tell us what working at Accountability means for them. The United Nations’ theme for 2024 was Invest in women: Accelerate progress - and we think they are progress champions!

Since joining the Accountability team, I've felt nothing but support. It's like everyone's cheering me on, helping me turn challenges into wins and dreams into realities. Plus, every day I become more and more confident in what I can do.
At Accountability we all enjoy the flexibility to work in ways that best suit our lives, thanks to the trust that Rosie puts in us. This kind of flexibility and trust means a lot to me. It creates a friendly vibe where everyone, especially women, feel valued and inspired to aim high. I'm incredibly proud to be part of the Accountability team, where we're not just tasked with delivering work but are also supported in unleashing our full potential. Looking ahead, I'm excited about the future we're building together—a future where our investment in women not only drives our success but also shows what an empowering workplace culture looks like.

A chance conversation on a dog walk led to a new career and a newfound confidence that older women (me) can still learn a new skill and have a valued place in the workforce! Personally, my self-confidence has improved greatly as I, from scratch, learned not only how a payroll works, but also that I can work on a computer and numerous software packages that before I would never have thought possible. I have realised that it is never too late to start learning and believe I have surprised my friends and family that I’m doing it! Professionally, Accountability provided the tools, the staff, the support, the patience, and most importantly, the belief that I could do it.
Accountability is a small but fabulous company that has a very positive and “can-do” culture. As a team, we are all valued for our individual skills and learning on the job daily is standard.
Accountability took a massive gamble on employing me, having been out of the workforce for almost 15 years. The time that Accountability invested in me via a sensible structured training programme, with very patient and understanding colleagues, meant I was never felt to feel stupid or incompetent. Attending Accountex (a large accounting conference), then sponsoring me through the CIPP qualification displays how much Accountability places on learning and continuing professional development.

Recently, I was promoted to Junior Bookkeeper despite having started not long ago. I truly appreciate the recognition and opportunities I have received from Accountability. This organisation is where I find professional fulfilment, and there’s no better feeling than shutting down my computer at the end of the day knowing I’ve done meaningful work. Additionally, challenges at work have made me a better person in my personal life. I’m more confident and I can manage my time much better.
